Books like this always make me think, "What if something like this was to happen?"

I have a tendency of going through the discussions before reading a book and I can give the rating of this book even before I read it. I love it already

I really like the book overall. I finished it earlier this evening. Early on in the book, reading the articles that gave a sketchy glimpse of how the world got itself into the mess it was in, I was in conflict as to what I thought about it. Existing in a world like the one portrayed is totally unthinkable for me. As Kelly, the shredders and Rex came into the mix I began to think there was hope for the human race yet. I would recommend it for others, though I am not sure about recommending it for young people.

I agree. The reviews seem to be overwhelmingly positive. I read the sample and was intrigued by the setup between Sliver and the woman whose parents he apparently killed. I wanted to know how things would pan out after she woke up (she was unconscious). Maybe I should read more.

Overall I believe that "World, Incorporated" by Tom Gariffo is a good book and yes I would recommend it. Although, it is a fictional piece it is also realistic about how and or what the nation could potentially become.

Once I am through with my current volunteer review, will go for World Incorporated. The more I think of it, the more I think Super corporations ruling (probably not in World Inc's way) might become reality sooner than later.

I am interested in reading this book, as it may be a warning about the future. Also, the combination of sci-fi and action is always good to read.

Riszell wrote: 01 Aug 2018, 19:42 Anything related to future is interesting. There's a strong possibility that the plot of the story could happen, as the same could be said happening in other places right now. So I think it is best to recommend this book to everyone as it prepares us for the future that could occur or help us prevent a dreadful event and stop such a possible devastating way of living.
This was definitely my take on it too. World Incorporated by Tom Gariffo is instructive. Anything related to the future at this point in our development as a civilisation has to be relevant. It's already been shown that the predictions of culture and literature tend to be correct. World Incorporated might just be a prediction of the next 20 years; the world is hurtling fast into the future and gaining momentum.

I'm still undecided about reading this book. The reviews sounds great and they play a big part in my decision to read the book. I want to give the book a chance, but I'm just not big on books that take place in the distant future. I will keep an open mind about it though. The reviews are very good!
