The sleeping wormholes were cool.

I agree that the world-building is great. However, by focusing on that, the author neglects other aspects of the book.

I will add Simon R. Green's Nightside series to my list.

Palimpsest sounds good but if it is the same writing style as this one, I think I will pass.

I've read a bit farther.

I'm with you about a lot of it. But I'm also enjoying it due to Nightside related nestalgia, which is weird.

This slump is kicking my butt right now.

I will post as I read more. :tiphat:

I've gotten to the cocktail party.

I'm enjoying it enough. I've let go of what I expected it to be, which has let me like the characters and story for what it is.

(I got a bit of a kick out of the zombie keshet.)

Still isn't going to be a favorite, but I don't regret it, so... *Shrugs*

That is certainly fair.

Sadly, I'm looking forward to being done with it.*sigh*

I've read a bit more.

I have a Seanan McGuire book waiting for my attention, and am nearly done with Practical Magic, but have reverted to reading only one book at a time, so I'm stuck.

I'm determined to finish it in the next few days.

Which Seanan McGuire's book is waiting for you?

Do you mean Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman? It is on my list. How is it?

Hey newest 'Incryptid' book.

And yes, that's the one. I'm enjoying it. Maybe a little tiny bit slow, but that may be my familiarity with the story (the adaptation is one of my favorite movies).

Okay, so, I finally finished this.
I'm not sure what to rate it. I enjoyed some of it, didn't enjoy some of it, and am just having trouble forming any real opinion of it.

That was an odd way for it to end, but oddly fitting, considering the rest of the book.
I just have no words.

Honestly, I'm just not sure this was for me, and especially not during my worst slump ever.

Anyway. Done. On to the next book.

Great!

Likewise!

It wasn't for me, either. I gave it two stars as the premise was good.
