I agree with you Zain A Blade! I think that romance does not always require "hot sex scenes." I have watched many movies and read many books that I would still consider romantic without such scenes. I believe that the story just requires: (1) great character development of the loving relationship between two people and (2) their actions for each other as a result of their love. :)
Thanks RT, I totally agree with what you said.

Yes, this a romance novel. I think there was excessive emphasis on the sex scenes. Some were too detailed and dirty.

Whilst I don’t think romance novels require sex scenes, I do think they add to ones understanding of the relationship.
In regards to use of the word cock, I think it’s difficult for authors to word sex scenes correctly. They want you to infer intimacy and passion, but also not be too crude. It’s a difficult rope to walk.

Some scenes were unethical. I found them boring and unbecoming.

She got more bold with her descriptive language as the book moved forward. Like a school girl maturing into a grown woman, it starts tame and grows like a flame into a spicy piece of sexy word play. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but I'm willing to believe either, and that says to me that it was fine the way it was written.

The numerous sex scenes were just dirty and erratic. Actually some were overly described.

The book is erotic along the way. You don't overly describe sex scenes like that if you want a piece of work to be appealing to a larger audience.

I feel as if the sex scenes and romance between the two main characters were well-developed, but when the scenes actually happened I have to agree with the original poster because of the wording did not seem to flow like her writing.

I think it is inevitable to have vulgar terms coming up in steamy scenes. It just comes with the territory and honestly it is up to the author which term they feel best fots the scene.

I personally don’t believe that romance novels need the sex scenes. I am happy with an author just leaving it to where you get the idea, but it’s not described. Others may disagree with me and that’s ok. I felt like there were too many sex scenes in this book. If felt like that was the only thing on the brain when it comes to these characters.

The sex scenes were often rushed. There has been no slow sensual build up. But the rushed paces will be good enough for new smut readers and teenagers.
