It's been fun reading your thoughts on how you related to each of the five characters. I hoped I had created enough depth in them that the reader would relate to one or more of them. I love how some of you found yourself in all five! ~Michelle Cummings

I also enjoyed some time as a successful career woman like Veronica. I now experience Amanda's harried-head-of-the-household worries. I'll let you guess how I relate to Melody, LOL!
I love this. Thank you for posting. ~Michelle Cummings

I find myself relating to Sophie because she is a tomboy and a lot of people around me call me a tomboy. Also that character and I have a lot in common.

I relate to Amanda the most because I also need time for myself, I will better stay in another place than go home if something stressful is happening there. But I liked Sophie too.

I felt it fine to relate with Amanda. I loved seeing her struggling to provide for her family. She is a hero indeed.

I think I relate mostly to Sophie and Rosie. I love Sophie's tomboy nature and would much rather be seen in jeans and a jumper rather than dresses. I also admire Sophie putting a lot of people before herself, which I hope others see in me. Rose is also relatable to me due to her witty and wise nature, I like to see myself as the 'advice giver' in my group of girls, and the caring side to her nature also sticks out to me.

I definitely relate to Melody. She struggles to become the artist she's dreamed of becoming her entire life, and she fishes with her friends to clear her mind. She sounds like someone I'd want to hang out with regularly.

I related the most to Veronica. She is career driven but very nurturing of her relationships. I really connected with her at the end of the book when she began pondering the idea of having a family after being so career focused her entire life. I am currently on that same path.

I relate to Veronica the most. She is fast-paced but she keeps busy and balances everything in her life as well as she can. Just like myself! I always have a million things going on.

Sophie and Rose are my two favorite characters in the story. I like how they played their role in the novel.

I didn't really relate to any of them but if I was forced to pick one, I'd say Sophie

I'm not yet a mother but I think I'm more of Amanda and Veronica. Balancing career, taking care of my husband and family, comforting friends and attending social activities. I agree with the previous comment about the author's intention. I feel that I am relating also with the other character in some ways.

ashley_claire wrote: 01 Feb 2018, 09:00 The women in this book are all so different that it makes it easy to find a connection with at least one of them. I related to Amanda the most because my husband was previously deployed while my children were the exact same ages as her children in the book. I could relate to her daily struggles of missing her husband while also adjusting to being a single parent.

Which character did you make a connection with?
I was able to connect with Rose, I admired her kind and easy going nature.

I find myself connecting to Rose because of aging. I love her loving attitude and mellow nature and the way she caused every one to feel comfortable and at ease. I also admire her personal touches as to how she touched the women lives. Not to mention, Rose simply reminds me of my beloved deceased Mother who cared for so many of us. 'RIP Mom'.
