What themes did you encounter when reading this book?

I found several themes covered throughout this book. One of the most prominent is bravery. Brimstone shows this often during the many battles he faces. What other themes did you encounter while reading this book? Are there particular parts of the book when these themes are most prominent?

The themes of Loyalty and friendship were also prominent. Heat insisted on going after Brimstone although it was a dangerous journey ahead.

@Mercy Bolo - Absolutely! Crimson demonstrated these qualities consistently with each other. Another situation where the theme of loyalty was shown was when Wartington chose to stay and fight for his home, knowing it would likely lead to his death, instead of escaping with some of the others.

The loyalty of Heat may be more than that of a loyal um-friend. She has demonstrated it for more than the umpteen time. lol.

@ReyvrexQuestor Reyes - Yes, Heat definitely cares very deeply for Brimstone. She shows her love on more than one occasion through her loyalty and devotion.

I'll have to go with resilience. So far it appears to be the most recurrent theme in my view.

Haha, I am amused by the way women are named in stories. We have Storm, the Furies, and now Heat. As if to call attention to the actuation of animals when in "heat."

I haven't read beyond the sample yet, but bravery was definitely displayed in that little section. I think it took major cojones to go from planning to undertake the simpler trial #2 to going with the trial #3 of the duel. I think I would have still tried #2 and just hoped for the best. I tend to be a yellow-belly! *smh*

I was surprised at his sudden change of mind, also. I can’t say that I would have done the same thing, lol.

I felt that loyalty and bravery were the predominant themes that were explored in this book. While there were many other aspects to this, these were the dominating factors.

I think friendship and bravery were the strongest in this novel. Brimstone and Crimson were all brave when fighting the Order, and had strong friendships with each other. Forgiveness could also be one because Brimstone forgave Neutron for what he did.

These two themes were definitely big throughout the novel, and not just among team Crimson.
