The theme that comes strongly is that of bravery. That young man called leaf is very brave.
But also a thought comes to me. What if this man wanted to commit suicide, yet he didn't want it to appear as so? Would the theme for bravery count? I would beg for your indulgence.

The author brings out yet another strong theme of social inequality. The school of mages does not even make an attempt to ensure uniformity. In as much as it provided the basics to every mage learners, the wealthiest of all, would access most of all benefits.

Interesting point which I hadn’t thought of before. The book does highlight the fact that life isn’t fair and some people are just luckier. I think inequality in the kingdom with the different magical groups is another theme I would like to see explored more in the next book.

While there were many themes throughout the story I think the biggest one was loyalty. You see so many moments where these characters have unfaltering loyalty to each other. I think this can be admired as the reader and makes you fall in love with the characters that much more for it.

Loyalty is definitely a prominent theme and an admirable quality for the characters to exhibit.

The themes of loyalty and friendship stand out for me in End of the Last Great Kingdom. Thus, I find the characters of Heat and Wartington very endearing.

I think there was a little bit about overcoming adversity as well.

Loyalty and resilience. Its apparent throughout the story and frankly very inspirational for me. (finals are near and reading a good book on not giving up helps!)

Friendship is a theme that's consistently shown throughout the book. One loyal friend is a great treasure. Heat and Brimstone define what a true friend should be - loyal and selfless. It's a lesson kids and adults would appreciate.

The different elements and their energies was one theme. This world's version of demons was an important aspect; they all related to the elements. Loyalty also featured strongly, and how Heat and Neutron maintained this to Brimstone. Deception was present on various levels, for example in connection with the use of Brimstone as a pawn in the war.

I feel like the central themes seemed to be loyalty and relationships.I love the way relationships are depicted in this work.

It seems apparent that the overriding theme is love. There are various versions of love, anyway, e.g., love for friends (friendship), love for the many (loyalty), and love for a special someone (simply love).
