I liked Brimstone. He was always upright, humble and self-sacrificing. We can all learn from him.

My favorite character is Brimstone. The kind of test he underwent to become a member of the mage school was just too much to bear. To imagine that he passed the test was magical in itself.

My favourite character was Heat. She could have been fleshed out more, but I just loved her abilities and hair colour.

Underdogs rising to the top is a favorite of mine, as well.
Is it terrible that I'm searching for more strong lead characters?

I feel like every fantasy story is an underdog anymore. Lead characters are always new to their talent, in training, bequeathed something, set unto a quest by others, fate throws destiny in their lap etc etc.

I do love my underdog stories, but let's have a sarcastic, narcissist be the protagonist...just once?

I absolutely adore Brimstone, and he seems to be the one that many readers love, haha. I found so many qualities that are similar between us, and I'm very inspired by him. But yes, it's also important to not dismiss Brick, as others noted, since he played an important role, along with Brimstone.

I love Brimstone. I love all the changes he had to go through. I love that his character never became corrupt, nor did he back down from any challenge even when it got hard. I loved seeing his transformation from the beginning to the end.

While it seems like a popular answer in this forum, I will still pick Brimstone. I simply love the character development he underwent in the book, and Victor Rose did a great job at portraying him.

It's Leaf or Brimstone. Why? Despite of his status, no money and no everything but courage. He was able to show that everyone in this world being bullied could ever get respect from others.

I haven’t finished the book yet, but so far my favorite character is Brimstone. There’s something appealing about an underdog!

How I love a well-developed character. It allows me to grow in to the story more; become immersed in what's going to play out!
