Brimstone was as well my favorite. He was an underdog and then rose to the top, his struggles made my love for him so much more passionate

Heat is my favorite character. I love YA novels which portray strong female characters like Katniss in Hunger Games.

Brimestone, I like how he overcame his inner weaknesses to emerge champion. It shows how every one of us has a hero within.

For me, Brimstone himself. His evolution from bullied kid to a mage wise beyond his years was credibly done, and how he continues to develop in the next book is a key factor in my wanting to read it.

I'd have to say Neutron was my favourite! He had to battle so many inner dilemmas, but sincerely cared for both Heat and Brimstone throughout the novel!

I enjoyed Neutron. Considering my aspiration to be a writer, I always love a great gray character. It always makes me smile when gray characters conflict with themselves and who they should trust between the two people who saved them. He is definitely a close second to Brimstone.

Brimstone wasn't a pathetic underdog, but had the wrong mentality about things and worked hard to get where he was. I have seen a lot of comparisons with Harry Potter, but I think there is a very important difference between the two. Brimstone was expected to fail and worked hard to become stronger, while Harry Potter was expected to succeed and got lucky, and it was easy for him to become his expectation. I greatly enjoy Brimstone's character, more than I liked Harry Potter. Brimstone was a more likable character and became my favorite underdog character.
Books and stories provide wonderful knowledge and lessons, but I must agree with my father that experience garners wisdom.
