I think the scenes were over done. It does help,to understand the multiple relationships, but I think it takes away from the book as a whole.

I found the scenes were necessary to highlight the novels theme but after awhile they were too overused. It just wasn't realistic anymore when every man Jennifer met wanted sex. It became something of a joke after awhile. I feel it was more distracting than anything and I would've enjoyed the novel more if around half of the explicit scenes were cut out.

I enjoy reading erotica when that is what I have chosen as my new read. I have enjoyed fantasy erotica with different species and even with different methods of giving and receiving pleasure.
I found the sex scenes distracting and skipped over sections to avoid them.

The problem wasn't the presence of sexual scenes, but that they went over the plot. During the second half of the book, the story moved forward only through Jennifer's encounters with other characters, which almost always ended in sex. Only at the last chapters, following the past-Jennifer twist, did the plot rediscover its original narrative thread.

I just think the sex scenes represent the author not knowing what to write and choosing to fill in his blank spaces with sex scenes. He just had a lot of blank spaces.

In my opinion, as long as there are warnings about a book's sexual content, it is anyone's choice whether to read it or not. But of the explicit scenes were just thrown in and without any contribution or relativity to the plot, then I guess a reader would get turned off.

If it doesn’t add to the story then what’s the point? Adding sex scenes just for the sake of it will turn away a lot of readers especially if it gets to the point where it’s just not believable.

I found the explicit scenes to be more tedious as the book went on. They didn't really advance the plot.

I love adult romance in all aspects. Mix it with science and it's a good story. I liked the whole book a lot.

I think they are unnecessary. The point of the author could be described without being explicit. These scenes didn't add anything to the story.

They were definitely not necessary to the plot after a certain point. Had this been primarily a romance centered around Jennifer's personal growth, I could see them working, but it's not. They didn't really add anything we didn't know already and served only to pad time out.

I thought it was absolutely unnecessary. In the first half of the book she never thinks about sex and then all of a sudden it's basically all she can think about. It did nothing for me, and I felt like it didn't help the storyline at all.

I think they were unnecessary and ruined the book. It lost the plot and made the story very tedious to read. I just wanted to get back to the actual storyline.
