I agree, tone down the explicit scenes and the scientific details. Rewrite it in such a way that the general idea is not lost, but is attractive for the target audience intended.KlareAllison wrote: ↑20 Dec 2017, 18:08 Yes, I think a film adaptation will be feasible here if the plot is reworked to retain viewers' attention and the graphic scenes also toned down realistically.
Would "30th Century: Escape" work as a film?

Those are all excellent points. A series, not a full-length movie would definitely make more sense. I agree whole-heartedly about the appropriateness of the explicit scenes, but with streaming service nowadays, producers don't need to worry about broadcast television restriction like they had to in the past.Yolimari wrote: ↑02 Nov 2017, 16:27 I think it might work as a sci-fi TV show, but I am not sure the explicit scenes would be appropriate. I think it would be rated R, of course, and it would have to be late at night. Possibly a network like Hulu or Amazon would have to pick it up because these have less restrictions.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate. The target audience is key when determining the film to shoot.Mallory Whitaker wrote: ↑17 Dec 2017, 22:13That's a really good point. Deteriming the target audience is obviously important for any movie, but I think it's especially true for a story like this one.Paul78 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2017, 22:46 From the few chapters I have gone through, the book can be rewritten into a movie script and acted out. The whole matter in question would be how to take care of the explicit scenes.
Which audience would the film
makers for the Escape from the thirtieth Century be targeting?
That would form the basis of deciding how to handle such scenes.

I don't know who I would cast though. That's a tough one.
