A wolf. Having great insticts as well as being great determination is something I'd like. Especially since I always have trouble following through what I want to do (ie studying)

Such creative animal choices! I love hearing all the reasons you picked that animal to represent you. So interesting!

After reading Robin Hobbs Assassins Apprentice books, I have unique fondness of wolves.

I think my spirit animal is the horse, a wild one because it symbolizes personal drive, passion, and freedom.

My spirit animal is a lovely, playful otter that fights against currents in the river and likes to hold hands.

Here, many communities have totems which are equivalent of these spirit animals. Our clan animal is the cheetah and I admire it for its swiftness.

I would pick cheetah as well. They're so pretty and I've always admired their agility. I've even had dreams of being able to run as fast as I wanted on four limbs and covering huge distances in seconds. That said, I am not a runner by any stretch of the imagination and being vegetarian, I would make a terrible cheetah.

On a humorous note my spirit animal would be a sloth - sleep and eat all day. But truthfully I would need to pick an animal that seems calm most of the time but is fiercely protective of their loved ones. Any ideas?

I would most likely choose a she-wolf, as they are fiercely protective and have the chops to back it up!

I will recommend a dragon. Yes! An ancient dragon of the last of their kind. Because I know they are extinct and powerful and also would be difficult to come by.

Momiji1987 wrote: 21 Dec 2017, 00:21 Many Native American cultures look to animals out of a desire to embody i.e. the swiftness of a deer or the grace of a hawk. If you could have a spirit animal, what would you choose and why? What characteristics do you admire or have in common with your choice?
If I were a believer of this folklore, I'd choose a butterfly and an eagle. A butterfly wasn't always beautiful and in flight, as it underwent a dark and arduous slumber and processing before its full metamorphosis' completion. An eagle isn't afraid to fly alone as needed and not necessarily in a flock of many to tend to its and its own's needs, and to soar high and beyond to reach its destination.

I love that. A dove is a sign of hope. It was there after the frightening deluge in Noah's time.

That's interesting. It's amazing how a bear's cuddliness could be turned into viciousness in retaliation. I'd like to believe in the power of the good side of human nature.

I've often wondered what the origin of the catch phrase "elephant in the room" was but have only tried finding it out just very recently. What the majestic creature stands for are qualities worth possessing indeed.

he deer was a messenger, an animal of power, and a totem representing sensitivity, intuition and gentleness.
You've just reminded me of Santa Claus and his magical sojourn buddies as he led on to make the Saviour's season more festive for all and to remind us that niceness is something to go for.
