Not really. Age is Age, Trust is Trust. Don't mix these two up.

I think they would have been more likely to believe her if she was older as it would seem less like a childish fantasy. However, it's still a pretty tall story to explain, and the characters had not known Sarah for long enough to tell if she was a truthful or trustworthy person.

I think more than age, it is the trust that we develop by being along with a person.

Maybe. I think maturity affects trust more than age does. Some young people are very trustworthy if they're mature.

Exactly.. whereas some oldies cannot be trusted as they are not trust worthy.

Re: Does age affect trust?
In Sara's case, i think maturity played an important role in every of her action.
But generally, every old age person is expected to gain more trust due to experience and their integrity.

While I wouldn't say age affects trust, I would agree that it does affect believability. As some other users have stated, it is more believable when an older person makes a wild claim as opposed to a younger simply because they are usually less likely to let their imagination run wild.

I think I agree that older characters are easier to trust, but I also wonder if they are more likely to be 'stuck in their ways'.

Older characters are easier to trust but I do agree that their perspectives could be a little more biased.

Even though Sarah is more mature than other 13 year olds, I think that her youth made it harder to trust her. With age comes wisdom, maturity, and life experience that I think other people naturally trust more than a child.

I don't think age should play a role in whether you are trustworthy or not. Unless you give a person a reason to not trust you any longer, you should be trusted.

I believe older people have more reasons to break trust.

I have to disagree with you on that.

Age doesn't necessarily affect trust, I just think it's the standard of life a person displays that determines whether or not their words are credible.

We rarely trust young kids; and we always expect them to trust us the older ones.
