I agree with your intuition. Most times, or at least from happenings around, love almost always starts by disagreements and being at eacg other's throat just like you said.

Really, thought there is something like love at first sight.

This I believe could be a sign of love. Had it been otherwise, this could have persisted and would be difficult for them to get along.

I didn't see their verbal sparring as fighting, even though it did get a bit intense. I think if they just listened to each other and tried to understand the other's perspective of it, they'd find some middle ground. The heart of the matter is that they both want they both want the answers to the same questions, and that is their point of connection. I'm hoping the writer touches this topic in the sequel.

I really enjoyed reading about the tension between Myra and Sergei, when two intelligent minds meet, there is bound to be intense.

Depends on the situation. Sometimes its because they can't get along and sometimes they're trying to hide how they feel for each other. For these two, I felt it was the latter.

I think it's just a a sign of them not getting along. Whether it turns into love is something else. I guess that's one of the issues the author left unresolved.

Sounds like they skipped the romance phase and went straight to 'old married couple' territory, lol.

At first I could not figure out why William said that there are sparks when the two meet. At the end, I saw why he said this, probably even explosions of rage when the two disagree. Both of them are relentless, I think this makes them attracted to each other.

It is difficult to know, as relationship dynamics are a tricky subject. For some couples, verbal sparring can indicate an underlying problem in the relationship. For others, it keeps a loving and trusted relationship from becoming stale.
Interested in books that help one's spirit move beyond the ordinary.

I think people can grow a relationship from an intellectual interaction, they both have different points of view, but they challenge each other at an intellectual level, It could be a very good couple.

Well, during those arguments between Myra and Sergei, I just could not tolerate Myra. She was probably arguing just for the sake of it, without making any intelligent comments. Initially she was the character that I was rooting for, but after Sergei comes into picture, her character got purely annoying. I would have not rooted for them to fall in love.
