She just seemed like a rude teenager and i really didn't care much about her.

As far as I think any teenager who is suddenly send to the doorstep of a relative who, they had never met, especially while going to trip.....

I did not like Sarah at first. She was the perfect spoilt brat.

I felt that Sarah was a little rude in the beginning but as the story continued we observed a change in her behaviour. She opened herself to her family member, that gave her a sense of belonging. Overall she was a good girl.

I also had mixed feelings about Sarah in the beginning of the book. On one hand, I remember what it was like as a teenager trying to do the best you can in an adult's world. I tried to give her credit: She took it upon herself to travel across the country and visit family she never knew. That takes guts. I remember having to travel alone as a minor and that in of itself was nerve-wracking. I cannot imagine the anxiety she had planning to visit relatives who aren't expecting her or know of her existence. I think it's telling of how desperate she was to get out of an awful situation before we even knew anything about her.

On the other hand, as an adult now, I do find her to be bit of a punk. She tries to act tough, act out, and be critical in order to prove herself to adults and it just comes off as 'that broody teenager'. It serves as a reminder not to be too critical of kids. Even in the best of situations children and young adults face significant struggles before they became adults. Looking back on it, those struggles might not seem significant but it is all relevant and prepares them for adulthood.

Did your feelings change throughout your reading?

My feelings did change from what they were initially and my opinion of Sarah became better. I was able to confirm my assumptions that her home life was not ideal, in fact, worse than I expected. After knowing her history it did not surprise me the actions she took to ensure her safety in the abusive Fletcher household. I look forward to seeing how her story plays out in the next book. As she matures I think she will make a strong well rounded character.

I was not sure that she would act so surprisingly but she did. In the last We see her heroic acts to save her family.

The character of Sarah in the beginning is not really exciting but as the book going, she is showing more exciting and interesting character in the story.

She was really annoying in the beginning. But as the book progressed, I got to understand her plight.

Sarah seemed like actually she was a crushed little brat. Who has no respect and regard to culture or family. But experience is the best teacher and moments are the best school so she has learned and grown in to a considerate woman.

I didn't like her nor her attitude but understood where she was coming from. In the end, I loved her

I thought Sarah was an absolute brat when she was first introduced. Yes, a part of it is her situation, but I think more of it is her personality.

As we read in the books, the beginning is a mystery and then some story develops. Same ware my feelings

Her reactions were realistic and fit with her level of maturity. She had suffered and been hurt so she lashed out.

I though Sarah had something deep down that she was expressing the wrong way. I felt that journey would bring her closer to her grandfather and she would eventually let it out.

In the beginning, Sara looks like as any teenager, stubborn, without good manners and full of critics for everyone and everything, but all of that changes through the reading, she becomes a strong teen, she is still stubborn, but she is able to do things that anyone could not even imagine. She became into "Strong Heart".
