We don't ever find out how Sarah survived for 8 days, but then we don't really know where she was at that time either. So it is impossible to say.

I agree. William was in pretty bad shape, he seemed to be in quite a bit of pain.CatInTheHat wrote:I doubt that William could make another journey, despite being younger than Tom. Tom just might make it again.

Yeah if circumstances were better (like the weather) maybe they can survive a small trip.gordonwrites wrote:Of course, they could survive another trek into the wilderness if they went during the warmer months and had help carrying their supplies. They only had sore knees and backs!

I also thought one of the characters might die, especially on the second trip. Although now I wonder if Tom might die in the sequel, on a trek with Sarah, in the same way that Bob-bob died whilst on a trek with Tom.jwalker73 wrote:I actually was unsure if William would survive the current journey. I thought they may have had to make another grave alongside Bob-Bob. Tom possibly could survive another trip as it is his history and family roots driving his determination to survive and succeed.

Third book :OAmagine wrote:I hope Tom don't die in the next book but if there was a third book, I think it would make a good end to the series.
I cant imagine what would be the content for that book. we know so much already.

I'm sure the author has many more plots and surprises that he hasn't revealed to us yet.BoyLazy wrote:Third book :OAmagine wrote:I hope Tom don't die in the next book but if there was a third book, I think it would make a good end to the series.

I don't think it is Sarah's age that made her survive when she was missing. I think she has a gift, a gift that made the impossible possible for her.

Her stamina probably played a huge part.Karen0823 wrote:I was actually expecting something bad to happen to William during the second trip. I think the only reason Sarah made it through those eight days was due to her young age and stamina.
