Olympic Peninsula Wilderness

Post by MaryBurris »

Have you ever been to the Olympic Peninsula Wilderness in Washington state? Do you think the author's description of the area is accurate? If you haven't been, did the author paint a vivid image in your mind?

I'very never been there, but the author describes the place in a cute detail that I have to believe that he has been there repeatedly.

I've never been there, but I think the author did a good job bringing the place to life. When the characters went hiking, I felt I was right there with them.

I have also never been there. At times, I felt like I was hiking along with the characters, but not in any specific spot; it could have been anywhere that had hiking trails.

I've not been there, and agree with others that the author did well in the descriptions.

I had to look the area up on a map as I had no idea where it was. I then went to Google etc and pored over the images. It seems to be the most glorious part of the world, those mountains and meadows! Yes, I think the author did a really good job. My imagination was well sparked by the descriptions even before I saw the pictures.

It is not a place I have been but I felt the author's description of the location enabled me to visualise the terrain and surroundings. Whether the images in my mind are a true depiction of this area or not I do not know, but I enjoyed the place I went to in my imagination!

My pleasure. :tiphat:

It's actually one of my favorite places (of which there are many (Gansbaai, Bath, Helsinki, etc. (none of which I've been to  ))), so I loved having a reason to look them up. :D

I have not visited there, but from the descriptions, it's somewhere I definitely want to go!
