I am a bit afraid of the sea because of my bad experienced way back on my childhood days. Well, I enjoyed chasing after the waves.

I love being at sea. I've been hundreds of miles offshore on forty foot boats for weeks at a time. You feel so small but free at the same time. The feel of the boat moving with the waves is amazing. It can get to be a bit exhausting if you are on a watch schedule, but worth the experience. If you know what you are doing, it is pretty safe.

Yes i would definitely be afraid if i knew i would be staying there long enough to actually start panicking. Most scary side of the sea is waves and its noise. I am a death phobiac so it will remind me of dark death at night so i dont think its going to be my kind of thing.

Walks on the beach - yes. Toes in the water - yes. Submerging my body in the crashing waves - no!!!!! I live in a coastal town where most of my friends surf or work with the NSRI and yet I am petrified of swimming in the sea. Considering we fish from the shore, and the size of some of the things we catch are right there in the surf! We have a river that comes off the sea and runs through the town which I used to swim in a lot, until quite a few sharks and crabs were caught in it. I decided swimming pools are much safer!

I've been boating on lakes and rivers and I enjoyed it, but the sea is a whole other thing. I don't know swimming, so that might be why, but I'd rather look at the sea from the shore than go into it.

I live really near the sea, and I'm not afraid of it, but I respect it.

I adore the sea and swimming, but it can be a little disorientating sometimes with the waves. I remember when I was young I thought I was only so far out and lost track and ended up being quite far from the shore without realising it. I am extra careful with young ones, but love splashing about. Some people are so brave and don't care or have confidence but I am always aware of the currents.

I am one of those people. The vastness of the sea is what frightens me. I find it to be extremely overwhelming. One day, I will brave going on a cruise!

I used to be afraid of how vast the sea is! It is overwhelming and I had a fear of encountering all the animals who live in the sea. I've grown to appreciate this part of nature and now find it very peaceful.

No, I am not because sea is a real depiction of life and people are afraid of life. Same situation as Captain by the Sea and I love sea..
