Are you afraid of the sea?
There are some people who are afraid of going or staying long in the sea, are you one of them? Why?

Mixed feelings. I actually love the sight and feel of the sea. I've only been on a boat ride once and while I enjoyed it, I felt more relaxed when we veered back to 'safer' regions. I can't swim, so one can't be too comfortable. :wink2:

Seas scare the crap out of me. And I say this as a person that really likes swimming, but I would never go alone in the sea, ever. Just something about the vastness and lack of shore at the other side really scares me.

I'm not afraid of the sea. I'm fact, I would love to travel by sea someday.

Nowadays I have mixed feelings about the sea. When I was little and didn't know that humanity had turned it into the world's toilet, I loved it and played in it. Now I don't think I would enjoy it that way if I ever ended up on a beach again.

Afraid... no. Respect yes. I think the sea is majestic and beautiful, and i have no problem travelling by sea to go anywhere and for most lengths of time. I just have this weird thought that the sea can swallow me up whole at night... it's strange. But in the day i'm frolicing in water and on the shore happy go luckily.

I love the ocean! Strong undertow can be frightening, but as long as you are careful and keep an eye on weather reports and your surroundings, you are generally okay.

My home town is by the Indian ocean. I almost drowned there when some local kids dared me to swim. I've never enjoyed it since.

I am afraid of going in the sea. I have before and the way the sea will carry people out at it's own will is something that is terrifying to me. I also have a fear of drowning though, and cannot swim so that could play a huge part of my fear, but even if I could I don't think the sea is somewhere I would go to swim. The dangers involved within it are enough to keep me knee deep or out of the water completely. The view is breathtaking though! :D

If it involves a submarine, then a thousand times yes.

I like the ocean but there is something about those deep dark trenches that I find really unsettling. I'm scared of the idea that we will never know what lurks underneath.

I think a submarine could be pretty cool! Especially if you're exploring underwater.

This uncomfortable feeling overcomes me each time I enter a boat to visit my maternal home which is in a small island. The discomfort always reaches a frenzy when we would get to that point the sky seemingly joins the sea and closes every route of escape: no tree in sight or anything one can hold on to, should the worst happen. I am definitely not a close friend of the sea. We relate better at the shore, in safety.

I haven't stayed in a sea for a long time but I somehow afraid of the sea because I felt that I am drowning.
