I have been out in the sea for short periods and i was not comfortable at all because of the fear i developed of drowning in case something went wrong. I am not a good swimmer and swimming in the sea would be a no no for me.

Yes I am. It's deep and dark and unknown. Not to mention sharks...

I love the sea. I don't know if there's a more relaxing sound to me than the sound of waves hitting the shore. I'm not the nest swimmer, but I'm decent enough I'm not worried about getting dumped into the sea. And I love beaches, so interesting!

There are some people who are afraid of going or staying long in the sea, are you one of them? Why?
For me, the sea is a combination of the sublime and the beautiful; it's beautiful, but its greatness is to be reckoned with.

For me, it really depends on the size of the boat, and the level of anger that the waves are expressing. But I love the water, all types, and the sea is no different. Just would prefer to be out on it in a big boat!

I am not afraid of the sea. I've been adrift in an inboard fishing boat, all alone, no battery, no light. The thoughts that went through my head were more about being hit by another boat. I wasn't stranded long enough to get hungry or thirsty.

It's not the same for everyone. My boat almost crashed into huge cement pillars holding up a bridge. A yacht almost crashed into me. Finally, I drifted up to an island. Silence, darkness, drowning and the like were not what I feared. It was the sudden crunch of the vessel that protected me from all things below...

That's a funny question to ask, but I am not afraid of the sea, I'm afraid of the water because of my inability to swim at the current time

I get paranoid at sea because I'm afraid of what's under the deep waters. I love swimming, but I easily panic in shallow situations. I love boating and sailing, though. Just don't let me fall in.

I am afraid of the sea! 70% of this planet is covered by the ocean. 95% of the ocean is still undiscovered. Sharks are scary enough! Could you imagine what lives in those undiscovered areas. One of my biggest fears is to be stranded in the middle of the ocean waiting to drown or to before I drown. There are things you just don't mess with. The cold, uncaring ocean and it's habitants are some of them.

I completely agree. I love the ocean. I would love to take a cruise.

I am a bit afraid of the sea because of my bad experienced way back on my childhood days. Well, I enjoyed chasing after the waves.

I love being at sea. I've been hundreds of miles offshore on forty foot boats for weeks at a time. You feel so small but free at the same time. The feel of the boat moving with the waves is amazing. It can get to be a bit exhausting if you are on a watch schedule, but worth the experience. If you know what you are doing, it is pretty safe.
