Hey, MoniqueJM, it is as if you have read my mind, I have always had a great fascination with the sea. Always wanted to tame this mighty mass of water but without much success. I have tried to learn how to swim without much success. I admire the sharks, fish, and whales. I admire men and women who take to the seas, swimming with ease, both man and water in harmony leaving me wondering when I too will bound with this great mass of water.

Terrified. I once almost drowned back when I was a teenager. There's this phrase i made relating to that fear : "the smell of the ocean reminds her of death". Also, beneath the ocean is what scares me the most. Who knows what lurks there.

I'm not afraid of the sea. But I am very respectful of its power. I dint know if I would want to sail for days on end though. I sometimes get seasick.

The sea is very scary place for me to be. Although I admire the sight of it, I am always put off by its boisterousness. It will take a lot of bravery from me to be on the sea.

I have lived on land all my life and I can't swim so I am very much afraid since I can drown though I love the sight of the ocean. I also don't like how the sea gets rough at times.

I love being by the sea. With all the breeze and all. Travelling on the other hand, it is something different all together. I find it boring and almost phobic.

Sometimes i am and sometimes i'm not. There are just these crazy seas that waves too much, and there tolerable ones that i can handle :)

I've always been drawn to the sea, but I haven't had a chance to go yet. My daughter and I are drowned in the Colorado River a couple years ago though so I'm not sure how I feel about the ocean now. Maybe if I don't venture out to far I'd be ok but not really sure.

Thalassophobia is an intense and persistent fear of the sea or of sea travel. I wouldn't really label myself as a possessor of this phobia because I love staring at the sea or ocean water for a long time, and just watch them. I think the reason for this could be because of that ocean or sea water is mostly navy in colour, and my favourite colour is navy blue.

I am afraid of the sea because it is so vast and has no ending or bottom that you can see. I find it quite frightening

I think the fear isn't the fact that it is the sea, but the fact that I cannot swim. When I do not know the water that well to float on it, it freaks me out.

Totally! I like to swim, but the sea is a totally different story. Went on a boat ride and I totally freaked out. Lol... O doubt I'd be doing that again anytime soon. A ship is bigger, hopefully I'll be more comfortable in it.
