We see Max getting into a dangerous venture; expansion of Panama canal characterised by financial greed, deceit and political manoeuvre. Multi-national institutions eyeing the same project.

Do you think we have similar problems as these in our modern World?

Hi,
They exist, more than you can imagine. Try googling the proposed Nicaragua canal. The political side-shows and propaganda are ridiculous. Besides, with new ships exceeding the previous Panamax-class, the Panama canal may need to expanded again.

Corruption is the pastime of many wicked souls, with some even unaware of the evils they sow. This social malady was started by the serpent in the garden of Eden. And mankind (and womankind, lest I offend anyone) has never been free of it.

We have a lot of cases similar to this problem. For example, not all of those international nongovernment organizations are helping nations just for the passion of helping but for other selfish purposes.

I do agree. Avarice has always led people to amass an enormous personal fortune. As long as we ignore our nature, we won't eradicate corruption which creates the cruelty of the world we live in.

I think it even goes beyond the canals that are being expanded and built. We have so many choices that are being made with finance in mind when we would be wise to be considering effects on the world as well. Money is something we created and in situations where society crumbles it is useless.

Yes it's real but it all depends on the nature of the person or persons involved. Greed and deceit forms part of the nature of an odd person. If the person involved is the odd type then expect these.

Yes, I do think it's real. We get a glimpse of that kind of thing in the news whenever we hear about politics. Also, a lot of it we just don't know about it.

It is a possibility, I can't sit in a corner and decide it doesn't exist, no matter how panoramic I think my views are. So much is occuring that we might never get to find out.

Every organisation is corrupt in it's own way. Some are actually advanced. Every human has an innate piece of greed that craves for satisfaction.

Only too real, in fact today it is probably far worse. In our connected world the opportunities for deceit and double crossing are even more apparent. Only look at WikiLeaks. Emails criss cross constantly and money can be moved easily. Technology changes, but unfortunately the greed and the need for power does not.

Absolutely! Unfortunately, they don't all end up as entertainment in a good book. Governments, NGOs, non-profits, any organization and their projects can be corrupt, ill thought-out, or be hiding something sinister.

Extremely right point . I don't get it how your soul allows you to do that in name of success.
