I prefer reading both as old books can be just as entertaining and informative as newer ones. Older books also allow you to slip into the past, into times you never got to be apart of.

Recent books are better and updated....while old books won't get you updated.....but if you like old books I ain't saying you should stop reading them....but I prefer recent books.

Both! Anything and everything!

When I was a kid, my family went to visit my aunt and cousins. My cousin found me reading the instructions on the lid of the washing machine, rolled his eyes, and said, "Mom, we need to take Misty to the library TODAY."
"The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one."

The only bearing the publication date has for me is the language and the relevance. Sometimes, old books are hard to read because of the way it was written. Sometimes, there are many concepts that are obsolete. I'd give anything a chance either way.

I like both new and old books. It is fun to see how technology, language, and the economy have changed through the years with writing as a source to compare. I find a beautiful nostalgia in reading a book that features cassette tapes. References to the time in which books were written are awesome. There are even some authors who start books in the 90s and write for years as though only months have passed, when in reality it is 20 years later. Seeing the effort, creativity, and inspiration in an authors process is so appreciated. Most of the books I read are set in different timelines or different worlds entirely.

I tend to read newer books, because I often have troubles with the writing-style and concept of older books. This is why I never enjoyed classics.

I am often a bigger fan of reading recently published books. I feel as though I can relate and connect with the characters and situations more. I am also easily attracted by the hype that is created around recently published books. With so many people posting and discussing new reads, I immediately feel the need to read it, due to the Mere Exposure Effect.

I am in the same boat! It is pretty difficult for me to understand "Old English" and I often have trouble focusing on the story because of this.

I like reading both old and newly published book. In my opinion, old books were more artistic than new books.
