In a novel, description of love scenes and the love act (especially in a a non-romantic genre) is an act that needs mastery to come out right and not be "gushy". Seasoned authors have mastered this act and do bring out the erotic action in a few words or phrases without being unnecessarily explicit. I agree that if it's not a romance novel, it better be kept out
