I don't think so. When there is a big decision like that in my life, I would like the support of my loved ones.

I will always follow my dreams. Yes, it might seem selfish at first, but I think it's very important to be able to realise my dreams. That said, I don't think people should have to choose between their significant other and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I would not risk everything. I don't know if the opportunity is actually true, however, my future is securely in place

Hey Li Yamamoto (aka new kid),
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. However, how would you know your future is truly secure ? Things could go south anytime. You can't always be sure of everything.

Thanks for your comment. Do you also realise that realize is a z only in North America, everywhere else it's realise ?

If the benefits outweigh the risks then I would.

No. Certainly not. Unless I am willing to grab it and fall with it, I wouldn't mind. But for now, I think I would need a safety net.

I'm a more cautious kind of person. But if that would ever happen to me, I feel confident that I have a strong enough support system to be able to take the risk.

I don't think I'll be able to risk everything for something that has no guarantee. I tend to go after opportunities but if it's an all-or-nothing bet I'd rather pass.

To me, it seems like dedicating yourself to anything in a serious way is a risk and a sacrifice. Your time is the most valuable thing you have. So to give that up in pursuit of something that might not work out, may not end up making you happy, could be something you're just not very good at, et cetera is significant. But I have to admit, risking the stability of a great job would be a bold move. Life has gotten very expensive these days, and money troubles can ruin relationships in a flash. The dilemma sure does make for good storytelling though. :techie-studyingbrown:

Risk isn't worth taking if the consequences are worth greater.
