Sometimes due to what we read at first or hear from people, we end up painting a completely different character of a person only to realize later that it's not who thy are. Others may decide to mask themselves.

Happens a lot. My advice to all is 'Be your self'

I am pretty sure that everyone has met someone like this at some point in their lives. I have met a few of them unfortunately. Some of them are even family members who showed their true colors finally and I had that exact moment where I realized they weren't who I thought they were.

Oh Lord, I know so many two-faced people that I'm wary of everyone. They'll smile in your face and plot your demise in their heads. The world is filled with them.

Daily bread! The fact is we never end knowing a person not even our closest friends, so it's easy to be deceived. Some people may seem affable and meek but can really be twisted and mean.

No I haven't. I would say one needs to be vigilant when choosing friends. Some will want to befriend you for who you are, or with a bad intend.

I have met people that i thought were good, but turned out to be terrible people. It's always hard to find the true thoughts of a person. Moreover, the human mind is fluid. Your nature is not constant throughout your life.

Excellent point! I agree, we all wear masks in our own way, even if we are not necessarily aware we are doing it. As someone with depression, I frequently wear a mask when I put on my happy face and go about my day as a seemingly friendly, cheerful person, when in reality that does not reflect what I feel or think. However, it's not something I do out of malicious intent. It's so that I don't worry others or affect any one else negatively. On the other hand, I've definitely met my fair share of two-faced jerks who do it to hide their true nature or to get away with something.

We only see what people choose to reveal about themselves. I don't think anyone is an open book.

Unfortunately a majority of the people I have known in the past are extremely two faced, and that includes a few family members as well. The way those individuals have treated me has made me into the person I am today so I really can't be too upset.

I completely agree with you. There is no one on Earth that is wholly honest and genuine. We all love to lie and deceive and we do it for a reason. Putting a mask or more is ubiquitous.

A lot of people are like that, I think. There's one who looked so young I assumed he was a teenager lost on the school campus but he ended up to be teacher and a businessman.
