I don't think anyone ever enters into power with the intention to become corrupted. Power does crazy things to people.

Many people think "you get the government you deserve." Frequently, people knowingly vote for someone who is corrupt. And many will also turn a blind eye to people who commit unlawful acts while in power because this is the person they voted for. So, if the voters have a hypocritical attitude toward their leaders, how can they complain about corruption?

There's a saying in my country that goes "God raises them but the Devil unites them". This means that God created the man but the devil gathers the people who are malicious so they can commit their crimes. I think a person can have a corrupted mind, but if this person does not have power, he won't affect others much. On the other hand, if this person has power and he is together with others that have corrupted minds as well and also have power, that's when real darkness starts.

Corruption usually starts with individuals and can spread to others. I think that is when it becomes the most dangerous.

Corruption is evil but it is here to stay. We don't live in a utopia.

That's true. Some of the greatest corruption comes from those who can buy anything or anyone they want to get their agenda through. Everyone should read The Right to Nominate which I reviewed if they want to truly understand how corruption works in our government.

I see corruption as a form of evil, and evil can be initiated internally or externally - the so-called bad apple or bad barrel argument. Sometimes, people are influenced by other individuals around them. Sometimes, the system is just so far gone that it can twist an honest man.

For me it seems like corruption is getting ever more widespread, even though an increasing number of measures are being taken to reduce it

This corruption issue is really annoying. I don't understand whether the issue is because the leaders are so ego or what? But in real sense its really bringing down our economy.

The evil of corruption has so invaded every nook and cranny of the society. It is well embedded deep in the bureaucracy that no amount of leadership anywhere else in the world could stop it. The problem with this is that even a sacred cow when he enters the system can be eaten up by this system of corruption. The only solution to this is spiritual reformation where Jesus needs to be at the heart of everyone where a deep conviction to shun corruption is foremost in his life because the fear of God rests in him. This so far is the best solution and nothing more.

Greed is one definite reason as to why individuals can be corrupted. Greed for money and power can prompt anyone with this desire to do underhanded things just to achieve the said desire.
