How's Your Relationship With Your Parent?

Post by Amagine »

In the book, some of the most interesting dialogue and conversation came from Godfredo and his father Paco. We see that the two don't really have a great relationship as Paco places money and power over his own son.

How is your relationship with your dad or mom? Do you have a good foundation with them? Or is the relationship similar to Godfredo and Paco?

When I was younger and thought I knew better, my relationship with my parents was not very harmonious. but now that I I have grown up and they don't have to "parent" me anymore, we're good friends.

My parents and I have a wonderful relationship. I can tell them anything knowing they'll be supportive and ready with advice. Even though I'm grown, I feel my parents will always 'parent' me and help me along in life.

I have an excellent relationship with my dad, and he's easily someone I can talk to about anything. That actually goes for my dad and my step-dad.
I haven't spoken to my mother in years though.

I have a great relationship with my parents now. In the past I wouldn't have considered them loving but now I've learnt that they wish me good.

As much as I disagree with my parents, I also agree with them. We have a great relationship, even though it took time for us to understand we won't always be on the same page about everything and that it's okay.

My relationship with my mother is fine. We get along well enough. My relationship with my father could use a little bit more help. We love each other and have no serious issues. I just still think he and I need better communication between us.

Ugh..Paco.

I have a great relationship with my folks. I talk to them on the phone or email almost everyday. Now that I'm older, we share a similar sense of humor.

my relationship with my parents is somewhat stable though I've got to admit that there are instances when I disagree with them but I always try to be respectful with them even when I disagree with them

Unfortunately, I have a far better relationship with my dad than my mum. My mum has brought me up fantastically, with manners and responsibilities...So the foundation of my upbringing and morals is solid. It's just that for all she has been fantastic bringing me up she had to deal with 5 children and this could leave her a little distant with a lack of personal affection. She has never been one for hugs or expressing how she feels and I have never felt that I can confide in her though I am so grateful for the kind and law abiding person I am today. I love her greatly, we just don't have a touchy feely, sharing thoughts relationship. Being the youngest of 5 children I am a daddy's girl through and through. We laugh at the same jokes, sometimes rolling around with tears in our eyes. We share the same hobbies of creativity and reading and he is very supportive.

I have a very good relationship with my parents but I think I'm closer to my mum. There's really no specific reason why, just has been like that from time.
