I am amazed there's such a high rating in this. I started it and it had such a high octane. But somehow it stagnated and the theme appeared repeated. The introduction is cativating though, but I couldn't finish it.

I really loved this book! Probably I am the only one in this topic who actually read the whole book. If you stop half way through I don't think you can have an honest opinion!
All the reviews rate it 4/4 ... which I agree is well deserved! Great characters and so many unexpected twists ...

I wholeheartedly agree with you, kandscreeley. I've been trying to finish it, but have decided that my TBR seems too endless and I would rather focus on books that I want to read/finish than read books I have no interest in finishing. Too bad, though.

Well expansion is a good book. History of construction of panama canal mixed wit lose of love makes it a unique book in the genre.
Make your ideals high enough to inspire you and low enough to encourage you.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I really liked it. I read it and reviewed it. I thought it had a lot of good suspense and I liked the writing style and most of the characters were pretty interesting. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it ended in a cliffhanger, which I always find quite disappointing.

I would also rate it 3 . Ending left me hanging

I think The Expansion sits very well with our Morden day drama. It has settings and themes that we are used to. That makes the work of the author very difficult since he ought to go the extra mile to make it impressive. Altogether it does a good job of satisfying the reader overall.

I recommend this book to those who belong to the political science, economics, and architecture fields. This is a rich source of information for them.

The Expansion is a great book although it first required a dedication to finish it once I started. Overall I would rate it 3 out of 4 stars.
