I mean I remember him. As in I know what his face looks like, but I am not the type to hold onto anything that has no place in my future. I agree with IanYanny.

It depends on the level of impact they have had on your life. This can be eithrt negative or positive.

My ex was my childhood best friend for a long time (we don't see each other around much, but we're still on friendly terms). My husband said something one that day that reminded me of him. I was transported to old memories and emotions, which I discussed with my husband. He has since worked with and become friends with the ex, which has been amusing.

Naturally I have several times, but I took care of that the day I went to the alter. I try to avoid anything that would spark something. To me there is no going back. I dread having broken a marriage.

Yes people do remember their ex.I think this is due to the fact that we can't erase memories,we only forget them for a while.

of course, its always something in their everyday life that rewinds the mind and creates flashbacks to when they once spent time with that person

Depends on the ex, right? I still think about some of my exes now and then. They were an important part of my life.

I don't think I'd ever think about an ex I had for 1 week the way Elias seems to with Malika, but different strokes and all.

I still think about my ex from time to time if something comes along that reminds me of him, so yes.

I don't think you'd ever forget anyone if you'd truly had a connection with them. You don't forget classmates you've had in the elementary grades, right? It's different from a more emotional sense. As the song goes, "you remember the person, but not the feeling."

Absolutely! One of my most romantic love affairs was with a man from Switzerland and we carried on a long-distance relationship for almost three years. We saw each other at least once a month, but we wrote letters to each other every day and I still have them. Every once in a while someone will mention ¨Mr. Swiss¨and it will bring back a slew of memories! Many of them written and recorded on paper :)

It's kind of impossible most especially if what he/she did to you was so painful and unforgivable. You can remember them maybe for the bad things they did.

For me, the answer is no. But I understand why someone would remember their ex, as they have had an impact in that person's life for a while.

I think people remember their exes and make decisions in future relationships based on those experiences.
