I'm with gali and hsimone (and company) on this one. They've really said it all.

I guess they're tough headed for a reason. They get to play the father and the mother in a kid's life.

All people can be tough headed. Single men and women just as well as married men and women. It's not a rule that single women are more tough headed than other people.

I don't agree with the generalization. I've met lots of tough headed women (and men), most of them were married. It has nothing really to do with being married or not, but with a particular character and maybe also upbringing.

Not all single women or single mothers are thick skinned. I agree that it depends entirely on the individual. Some people are more sensitive or mentally vulnerable than others.

Yes, this is usually because they find it hard to get loved in return after giving it, so they tend to push people away in an attempt to avoid heartbreak.

I think it's not about being a single mother that made Nadia do the things that she did. In my opinion, anyone who had been abused or is being treated unfairly would be tough enough to fight back. Even the nicest people have their limits.

As if that is not enough, she demands a week leave even after her request being turned down by the management board. I think single women are very tough headed. Do you agree with this? And why do you think they behave this way?
Nadia is determined and is standing up for her right's. She should be able to take a vacation, and not have every request turned down. And she should be able to report her son being shot.

It is not good to despise your people's opinions.
Yes, her son is also her ex's son. But that doesn't mean it's okay for him to put her son in a dangerous situation. And if her clan did not put her son's best interests at heart, than as a good mother, she must do so herself.

That ain't true. Not one bit. Just because they are mums and single, they tend to play several roles just to make sure the child has all he needs when he needs it so it puts her at edge trying to be a super mum. Aside that, she shouldn't be referred to as tough headed

I don't think it single women is tougher because there are single women that have no kids. I think single parents are tough. I say, parents because nowadays men are stepping up as much as women to parent alone.

Being a single woman myself I can't help but disagree with you on this one. I think what you term as tough headed would most suitably be defined as independent minded because most of the single women are very territorial about who or what influences their way of thinking

The experience Nadia passed through at the hands of her ex-husband is enough to make any woman a tough nut. She lives for her son and I feel she did the right thing by reporting her ex to the police. Seriously, I would react the same way because her opinion was not even sought before the clans came together to make a decision. That's gender discrimination in my books which I do not stand for. At the end of the day, it's just a character in a book but things like this do happen in real life and others passing through the same situation can relate to it.
