A good point. You're right that those communities don't see this as wrong, more the pity. I am thankful I don't live in such a place.

It's really such a sad situation. Stories like this or ones of human trafficking make my stomach churn. I just don't understand either those that do this or those that use these services. Something definitely needs to be done, but it is almost impossible as long as people continue to USE them.

Likewise! If there were laws punishing the clients, it might have helped a bit. Still, I don't think we can abolish it altogether. As long as there is a demand for it, it will live on.

Child prostitution is a worldwide reality. I believe the most important thing to solve this is poverty alleviation programmes and employment providing schemes. If there is no poverty, then there will be no need for parents to give away their children in prostitution.

I was shocked to read that her own parents gave her in prostitution. Their own daughter, and only a kid for that! Nothing excuses that, in my book. Malika was just a kid, so she didn't realize she was exploited and believed her parents that it is more dignified than her father's job.

I agree something should be done, but I am not sure what.

Her dad was a street performer, and quite good at it. The odd thing was that her mom thought the same as Malika and she was an adult! How a mother can sell her own daughter is beyond me!

its true child prostitution is on the rise in most African countries.This is brought about by poverty in many communities and laziness.This could also be attributed to young girls loving quick money but i think going in for such acts is not the solution.The concerned authorities should wake up and put a stop on this vice

Its so painful to imagine the person who is supposed to give you a safe haven turns out to be a monster. I have a 15 ,month sin and I cannot imagine any desperation that would make me subject him to this vice.

I think education is important. A lot of people who do this do it not out of malice but because they have seen it happen so often, maybe went through it themselves and therefore it becomes their norm

The perversity of man (and woman, lest I offend some quarters) knows no bounds. I recall Sodom and Gomorrah and how God punished those people. It's an age-old atrocity and sadly, may always plague the world.
