For me age isn't a factor in a relationship.

So, you wouldn't mind dating a 5-year-old?

Well, I can empathize with that. But love should be a two-way enterprise.

As long as the law is obeyed, age doesn't matter to me. What is far more important is having the same maturity level, being on the same page when it comes to important relationship matters, and having personalities that fit well together.

Yeah. Truth be told, this is easier said than done.

Previously, say a few years ago, age was a huge factor. Now, I see it differently, it just depends on how both people feel about each other but the age difference shouldn't be significantly much.

Interesting to read the different opinions here in the threads. Some don't care for age difference at all, while others think that no underage person should be in a sexual relationship, especially with an adult (I do tend to be in the second camp). I guess it comes from a person's background and country and how relationships have been seen in their place. When families marry young daughters at the age of 13 (I know a family like that in a Middle Eastern country, won't mention where), the tendency is to think that as soon as a girl starts to "mature", they are "ready" for a relationship.

When you're that young you really can't have that kind of age gap. Yes most girls are more mature than guys at any age, and most likely the girl has a maturity equal to that of the male, but it does not change that they are too young and not fully matured. If they wait for a few years and stayed friends, but still loved each other that would be fine. At least until the girl is sixteen, they should hold off on a serious love relationship.

I believe had Elias known from the start that Malika were underage, his story would go a different route or wouldn't exist at all.

It wouldn't really be that much of a big deal if the person in question is matured. Most at times it ends well, and other times it just doesn't fit.

I do think age is a factor when it comes to relationships. People that are similar in age will have similarities from childhood, such as toys, activities they did when they were little, tv shows they watched. It's hard to make a reference to a show and it be understood when the person you're dating has never seen the show.

I think it is all about maturity level and whether the two people respect each other's differences. Personally, I don't care about age, as long it is legal.
