I am currently reading that book now and it is a spur to read on. I love it.
Reading books on places I have never been before makes it more imaginative or creative for me, I don't know if am alone on that but it allows me picture the environment in my own light and even create my own images and scenery you know. :D

It kind of depends. Sometimes it's nice to have an idea of what a place is like that I have not visited before and sometimes all it does is makes me want to go there

I enjoy reading the books about new places, especially when the author shows clearly the weather, the culture and interesting thing.

I like to read about foreign places in books because it gives you a sense of wonder like you are traveling on a trip. I also like books that feature foreign places because it is like an in depth cultural study of a particular place. I think that I prefer reading about places that I have never heard of or never been because of my interest in subjects like anthropology. My favorite book that depicts a foreign place is the Bookseller of Kabul because it allowed me to learn about Afghanistan.

Definitely! My favorite books about places I haven't been are Dan Brown books. I haven't been to Europe yet, so I really love reading detailed descriptions about their architecture and art.

Of course! To me that is one of the most powerful parts if a book- to take you places that you've never been. For me it's a reminder of how connected this world is. Despite never being in a place before I can still identify with a character's journey. However it is kind of underutilized by many authors, which makes it all the sweeter when a setting is described in tantalizing details.

I absolutely love reading about places that I've never been to. Reading about those places is almost like actually being able to be there yourself, especially if you have a good imagination while reading the book. It teaches you about he place and let's you know all the Collins about being there, almost as if you've been there yourself.

Absolutely! I love hearing about places I have never been before. It's a good way to hold me off until I am able to see them in person.

I like reading books about places I will probably never get the chance to go to or see. I just finished reading My Trip to Adele. In this book, the authors were very good at describing all the different settings in the book. I was really impressed with how well they did this.
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.
