The main characters in the story, the Trip to Adele have something in common. Their love to Adele and their love for her songs. What line of a song which touched or moved you?

"Gonna stand my ground, and I won't back down" Because of my disability (which causes me to walk on the balls of my feet because my legs tendons are to short) I was picked on a lot in school. After hearing this song I realized I could stand and fight or live in fear of my abusers. That's my mantra to this day.
Through books, I have lived not just one life but thousands.

Too many to mention! I'm going to mention one of my favourite Australian artists, though, Bernard Fanning: a poet, lyricist and singer, formerly lead singer of the band Powderfinger, he is now a well-regarded solo artist. One of his most recent songs, Wasting Time, embodies to me every failed relationship I've ever had:

All those wringing hands
And cheap ideas we could reason as failures
But to run it through again
Would only serve to do nobody no good
So let the universe decide
How we can loosen all the knots and tangled ways we came to
And resolve to never speak of it again
Oh love if only we could
When I think on it for long enough
Of all the time we wasted on each other's love
It's a wonder that I still believe the sun is coming up tomorrow
What was once so fine, has been broken and burned
So I wait here in the dark, for the light to return
Blinded, I was blinded 'til I knew only the good love survives
But you and I were wasting time

"I close my eyes, only for a moment
And the moment's gone"
Dust in the wind reminds me that life are just moments. So try to live your life today with significance cause it might change after a moment. :) just saying.

I was very touched by an Asaf Avidan song with the lyrics "One day baby we'll be old, think of all the stories we could have told". It showed me how short life is and to take every opportunity imaginable. It was because of this son that I quit my job and decided to go travelling around Asia and Russia along for 6 months

I'm weird, and eclectic, and a bit of a fan of the macabre, so my taste runs a little dark sometimes.

That being said, this is from a musical that I love:
So why care for these petty obsessions? Your designer heart still beats with common blood!
I take this as saying you are who you are, good or bad, and a physical "improvement" can't improve the person you are inside.

Grief is just love with no place to go.

I love the song of Jason Mraz "I won't give up on us". I won't give up on us even if the skies turn gray. If you're needing your space, and you need some navigation....

The song of Freddie Mercury, "In My Defense" (In My Defence) touches me everytime I hear it. Just listening to the melody makes me emotional. What more when you play the whole song and hear Freddie Mercury belt it out.

Here are some lines of the song ...

In my defense (defence), what is there to say
All the mistakes we made, must be faced today
It's not easy now, knowing where to start
While the world we love, tears itself apart

I'm just a singer with a song
How can I try to right the wrong
For just a singer with a melody
I'm caught in between, with a fading dream.
" HAPPINESS is finding PEACE within yourself! " :D

Night-wish's song, "Ghost Love Score", had a line that summed up my entire love life, which was "Bring me home or leave me be." I don't want any trouble with anyone, and if someone decides to get involved with me, they need to be a sort of anchor for me. I don't necessarily need anything from them, other than their assurance that they'll always be there for me, even in my darkest times.

Into the night we ride, scars wide open
Into the night, you and I torn and broken
Bleed into the night

Into the Night by Him.

Night-wish are Finnish, right? Maybe I'm thinking of a different one. :eusa-think:

Yes Nightwish is a Finnish band, used to be one of my favorite goth rock band ever. I did like the group more when Tarja was in the band before she left, but I still like to listen to their songs even with the new singer.

Speaking of Nightwish, here are some lines that at times resonated with me very much:

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything

(Nightwish - Nemo)

My muse is almost always a song. When I start writing a piece or I pick up a book, a particular song plays on repeat until I'm done. :P
The one I will remember forever is 'Take me to Church' by Hozier. This happened and it changed a lot of things for me! :mrgreen2:
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life

Wow! This is great. Not everybody can stand firm in the middle of a chaotic and discriminating world. This makes me admire those people who are firm and continue to trace their path towards their dreams.

Another line from a Him song. I love this one, though it could be taken in a number of different ways.
Dark light
Come shine in her lost heart tonight
And blind
All fears that haunt her with your smile
Dark light
It's really sad that the beauty doesn't come across as well without the music. Not to mention the singer's voice.
