It's difficult to decide, there are just so many. One of the recent ones that caught my attention was ''It's always darkest before the dawn.'' It's also a proverb, but it holds such a strong meaning and I always recall it when times get bad. The line is from a song by Florence+The Machine (Shake it out).

In keeping form with our BOTM, I'd have to say that Adele's All I Ask was tugging at me since I first heard it months ago. The line that had me gutted was : "...If this is my last night with you/Hold me like I'm more than just a friend./Give me a memory I can use..."

This is one of my favorite songs, and I can't break it down to just one part, so have the whole song's lyrics.
So long my friend, my foe, my love, my pain
The road's calling out my name
Dreaming of La Boheme
Maybe I'll go to Barbizon
Or see a girl before she catches cold and she's gone
Or maybe I'll just travel on
Travel on

So long my flame, my warmth, my fear, my fight
The road's calling again tonight
Dreaming under street lights
Maybe I'll catch a train to Rome
See the world until I can't go on
Then maybe I'll come traveling home

'Cause when the road takes it's toll
And these cities come and go
Filled with people I don't know
You'll be in my heart
And I'll dream of where you are tonight.

And when the years pass us by
I wonder if we'll cry
For losing so much time
For moments we may miss
For the love that still exists tonight

Maybe I'll go it all alone
See the world and make my way back home
Or maybe I'll keep traveling on
And have the video while I'm at it.

Dust in the wind reminds me that life are just moments. So try to live your life today with significance cause it might change after a moment. :) just saying.
I also love the lines of this song because it reminds me of my status in this whole wide universe. It also reminds me that the moment I have at this moment is not forever...

A line from a song by A-ha always reminds me that when all seems lost, a touch of humour can bring things back on track. I've no idea if they meant it that way but that is what it does for me.

"I used to be confused, but now I just don't know....."
peace starts with a smile...

I also like the lines. Saying goodbye to the one you love is really hard. Those families whose members are far apart can relate much to this song.

"The One" by Gary Allan
I'll fill those canyons in your soul
Like a river lead you home
And I'll walk a step behind
In the shadows so you shine
Just ask it will be done
And I will prove my love
Until you're sure that I'm "the one"

A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
Some people search forever for that one special kiss
Oh, I can't believe its happening to me
Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this
This was our wedding song and it means a lot to me because I feel blessed to have my hubby in my life. :)

“I hear your heart cry for love,
and you act like there’s no room,
room for me, or anyone
Don’t disturb is all I see.”

From “Heart Vacancy” by The Wanted.

I can’t really explain why, but these words tugged at my heartstrings.

War is the most vulgar madness, and winters can be so cruel. You can't always change the way things are like I can't change the way I think of you.
This is from Dave Matthews' "Broken Things". He has so many beautiful and thought-provoking lyrics, but this one stands out to me lately.
In my own life, there are things I want to change, but I can't. It's a helpless feeling.

I definitely have way too many favorite songs and favorite lyrics, but I remember one of the first songs where the lyrics really moved me is "To the Moon and Back" by Savage Garden. "Reaching out for human faith is like a journey I just don't have a map for." I just found that line so astute and poetic in describing how hard it is to reach out to people when you need or want to. It was one of the few instances where I realized the difference between general speaking and poetic language. I found that line so moving.
