I believe in handwork, intellectual approach, smart work and manipulating the process to be on your side. Some call this destiny. Sometimes clearly articulated moves do fail. Please understand.

I dislike the negative association of destiny (can someone really be destined to get cancer or something like that) but I would embrace the destiny of a lottery winner or best writer of the century in heartbeat.

I used to believe in free will and our power to change our lives through determination and hard work, but life proved me wrong. I do believe in destiny now because of the completely unexpected things that happened to me without no warning whatsoever. I still believe in myself. The difference now is that I also believe sometimes we just can't change things and we have to accept this.

Yes I believe in destiny perhaps not in terms of success but that every person we meet impacts our lives in one way or another. That to me is destiny.

Its hard to separate fate, destiny, and purpose in general. I want to believe that we can decide and change where we are or supposed to be. Part of me struggles with whether things are laid out before us and we have few choices, that its this way or the other, a fork in the road. Its really dependent on perspective and I'm far too confused to know which holds more truth. I would say that we are all meant to make someone's life better. A solitary life with no impact or interaction helps no one. We all want to make a difference, be remembered, loved, feel special, its just the human condition.

While I may like the idea of destiny, I don't want to believe in it because I'm worried I will not like my destiny.

I totally agree with you. However, everyone is meant to do great things according to their ability. To those given much, much is expected. I believe we are all great in different ways.

I believe that some things are destined to happen, but that we also have the ability to choose our destiny and to change our paths. I also believe that we can each have any number of destinies or purposes in life. In my own case, I'd say I have at least two destinies- one is to help people, and the other one has eyes like storm clouds.

I believe things happen for a reason, but destiny is a little different. I believe everyone has several paths to different destiny. It’s just a matter of the choices everyone makes and whether it leads to a certain destiny or not.

Alex does believe since he has been given this ability that it has to be his destiny to use it for good. I use to believe in destiny, but life circumstances have started making me question if such a thing exists.

I don't believe in a set fate exactly but I do believe that things happen the way they are meant to. It's up to us how we interpret whatever gifts we are given and how we choose to use them. I also believe that we were destined to meet certain people, whether good or bad - some reason is attached to it.

I do believe that we have a goal or something to reach in life. That's it's preordained is debatable. Maybe it's that we work in pursuit of something, having more than one satisfactory outcome - being whatever feels right to us.
