I honestly find reading Sci-Fi to be insanely boring; I dont believe, other than Harry Potter, that I ever actually managed to finish a Sci-fi novel. However, I actually really enjoy watching Sci-Fi series on TV or watching Sci-Fi movies.
Follow your dreams, read a good book, and put your feet up with a nice glass of wine.

I prefer watching Sci-fi movie because it gives you a complete picture of the fiction and the fantasy. However, the book may not bring a clear picture of any created object or character in your mind, and the story might not be understood properly.

I like to do both. What usually happens is that I read a good sci-fi book and when it is turned into a movie- I then watch the movie and then re-read the book. Though if I had to choose it would be to read Sci-fi. As good as the movies are, there are limitations to what can be shown on the screen. There are no limits to the imagination.

I recently read my first sci-fi book cover to cover. It was interesting, but as you suggested, difficult to follow in print. I would prefer to watch, I think. It's not my chosen genre, but it is more appealing to me visually.

I love the genre and although there are exceptions, I generally prefer to read science fiction. I feel like movies are often done in an unbelievable manner. But of course there are the Star Wars and Star Trek movies that were made so well.

For me I prefer to read and imagine the story in my mind. Even though the TV and movie world has gotten really good with visual effects they still let me down with how I see them. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters series is coming to TV and I am scared that they are not going to bring the characters alive like I see them in my mind when I read her books. But I guess I am going to have to wait and see what happens.

I prefer to watch, especially the technology part, because I'm not really science inclined, so I won't do a good job of working my imagination.

I like both reading and watching Sci-Fi. Star-Trek and Dr. Who were part of my experiences growing up and I really treasure having been able to watch those shows on TV. I also enjoy reading science fiction though; authors like Ray Bradbury or Greg Bear have been a big influence.

Great question! I tend to prefer reading it because it's not my favorite genre to begin with, so for me to get really into it, it has to have a lot of basis in real science... I just feel like it is easier to get that level of detail into a novel rather than trying to pack it into a limited movie or even tv show.

I do not mind both, though watching makes me understand more. Reading can also be very gainful if the author knows what to to write to capture his audience.
