Didn't like dolls. I was scared of them when they blinked and talk without me touching it. I guess I watched too much Chucky movies. Now, I have agoraphobia and books are one of my consolation.

My biggest childhood fears were snakes, centipedes and anything thats long and fast moving. As an adult i have overcome mostly these fears but they still creep me out a bit. On a side note, i have slept twice with an alive centipede crawling under and around my bed since i couldnt manage to kill it, the second time i had to sleep with one i sliced it with my knife but it ran away, some days later i found it on my room, stepped on it and then burned it to be sure its dead

Every time I reached the top of the stairs, I would run past that clock as fast as possible. I don't know where that clock is now. Also, I had been (and still am) deathly afraid of cockroaches. I broke my aunt's keyboard once while trying to run away from one.
Once i was trying to get a cockroach out of the house and it popped wings, landed on my face and ran around my head. To my surprise it was really soft but yeah i still get a bit repulsed when i see one and wouldnt get another one on my skin  . One method i use to like them more is to familiarise with them by placing my head close to them and observing them. I also found a cockroach egg which i keep inside a customized water bottle and i eagerly wait for it to hatch :D

For me, snakes. The way they slithering on the ground gives me a numb feeling on my foot. I never have a direct experience with them (touching or being bitten), but I have seen them very often. When I was five years old, I saw a huge boa trying to crossed the street. It was so big that I was shocked. Now, I'm twenty five years old and still they give me chills. I guess my fear for them is permanent.

Hm....I feared the dark. But I think what gave me the most nightmares was the fear of losing my parents. I still have nightmares about that.

I've always been scared of noises in the dark. Even if it is the sound of my footsteps, it startles me sometimes.

When I was a child I had really really long hair and my greatest fear was that a bat would get caught in it, I am terrified of bats but I am very happy to say I have never seen one, only on TV and in nightmares I used to have.

I was afraid of being left alone. I'm not really sure why; I can't remember ever having a rational reason for being so afraid. I guess I just got scared I would be lost or forgotten, which is silly, but I was deathly afraid of it when I was really young. Fortunately, it only lasted until I was maybe four or five. I'm really glad I grew out of that phase, because I remember it and it was miserable. I was never really afraid of bugs or animals; I'm kind of scared and creeped out by the creepy crawlies in the ocean nowadays though, lol, which is insane because I used to have no fear at all when I was a kid.

I was scared of being alone in the house. I watched lots of scary movies about what happens to people alone. so when I was left at home alone. I would turn the music up and read. I hated the noises the house would make. now as an adult I am good with being home alone. I am afraid of everyone in my life leaving and never coming back

I have always been afraid of the noises I hear while it is dark. I am not afraid of the dark. I actually do not have a TV in my bedroom because I love the blackness when I am trying to sleep, but the sounds that happen while I am in that blackness frighten me to no end. I have had anxiety for awhile now, so I usually chalk it up to that and try and force sleep instead of slipping into it peacefully. This has been a fear for me for as long as I can remember.

As a child, it was the fear of caterpillars or worms crawling on me. As an adult, it was the large centipedes where I used to live in Asia! They move so fast, and there are venomous varieties that sting. ~Shudder!~

P.S. - Can the title of this topic be corrected to Childhood Fears? ;)

I used to fear snakes because they are poisonous and they can kill a person.

I had quite a laundry list of fears in my childhood but the worst of these was the fear of being alone and the fear of WATER. Oh! my greatest terror was taking my bath alone at night.
To be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness.

My fears were spiders and invisible people hiding under my bed or in my cupboards
