The first book that I remember reading myself was called "Slave Girl", unfortunately, I don't remember the author. The book was about the life of a young girl who was a slave in the South in the 1800's. I remember enjoying it so much I read it again right after I finished reading it the first time!

I was in 6th grade at the time, and that was the beginning of my life-long love affair with books and reading. By 8th grade I was reading Stephen King. I've never looked back!!!

Either Hairy McLairy from Donaldson's Dairy or a collection of books about bears that live in a tree- I sadly do not recall the title or author. They were beautiful books, in a box that was designed to be a little suitcase for the on the go child reader.

Queens Première. Very funny now that I think of it.
Most times, I fall flat on my face. But never do I remain on the floor; I rise again.

The first book I remember reading, and having read to me, was "Bein' with You this Way" by W. Nikola-Lisa. It is a children's book about the differences of people and how it is all wonderful. As a bi-racial child this book was my favorite item to carry around with me and use as armor when hateful things were said. I found a love for people, which is funny because I do not prefer to be around people, by reading this book. It even came with a cd that sang the book to you! It was my favorite for a long time, and is now read to my son! This book has been part of my life for as long as I can remember!

My mom would always read me books before bedtime and The Chronicles of Narnia was always a favorite of mine. I especially loved the Horse and His Boy. The first book I remember reading myself is A Christmas Carol. I always loved watching the movie adaptations, so when I could finally read it myself, I loved it even more.

I was also a part of a library book club and I won the most read books of the summer prize. I always preferred stories about animals, so Charlotte's Web and The Trumpet of the Swan were two of the best books I have ever read still to this day.

The first ever book I remember reading was Aladdin, and since it was a Disney book, obviously it had plenty of pictures. The illustrations were wonderful, and I think I'm still attached to the cartoon because of that book.

I remember 'Rocks in my Socks' best. It was this kids' book my mum used to read to me and it was absolutely hilarious. I loved it, and I still read it when I go home sometimes. :P

I have read a lot of books. However, in terms of reading for pleasure I would say the Nancy Drew series are my first sets of books. I do not remember the first title that I have read though.
