Maybe it was Alice in Wonderland; or maybe it was Tom Sawyer; or maybe it was Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. It could have been the Wizard of Oz. It's difficult to point out which. They all had illustrations, at least the versions I read.

I was reading for my primary school exams and the teacher brought a novel called ' Eze goes to school,' it was the first book l read, by Chinue Achebe, an African Arthur. It was about a young village boy who came to town for education, he was different, poor, without shoes and helpless, but he was brave, humble and intelligent; he 'got the first prize' in the end! It was enthusiastic!

Well, ermmm, for me I started reading as a child. And my first book was 'Mezie the Ogbanje Boy'..The characters are mostly humans...Then I dont have the book again, but I really wish I can still get it. It made me know how much of reading I love even at the age of 8.

That'll be My Book Of Bible Stories. I fell in love with it first because of the pictures and then I started picking up some words and finally went through with it completely.
Most times, I fall flat on my face. But never do I remain on the floor; I rise again.

I remember getting Alice in Wonderland for my 6th birthday (I believe). It's the 1st book I read completely through. It also had Through the Looking Glass in it and I read that as well. I began reading the Bible at a very early age though. I never really read all the way through until later in life.

The first book I remember reading was "Think Big" By Ben Carson.. it narrates how He sailed through and made it in life despite the challenges faced. "Do your best and leave the rest to God"

Wickliffe Omondi, the author you're speaking of wouldn't happen to be Ben Carson the presidential candidate would it? He is a Seventh Day Adventist. I like him quite a bit. I did my ministry courses at a SDA college. I'm going to check out the book. I've never looked to see if he wrote anything. He does demonstrate values and that's what got my attention. BTW, I love seeing people enjoy reading anything that brings spiritual growth!

I remember being little and being obsessed with this book called Caps for Sale. It was falling apart and such an old book but I insisted on reading it every day. I would love to find a copy for my son!

The first book that I remember reading was The Lion's Haircut. I was fairly small, but it was the book that I really started learning to read with - it was one of the Golden Books children's book, and is long out of print. It is actually a very strong memory for me because it was the book that my father used to read to me when I was little (he passed away when I was three), so it was always a very special book to me.

I believe the first book I ever read might have been by Dr. Seuss
But the book I remember reading clearest as a child was the third Harry Potter book
l still remember that first read through of it fondly
it took me awhile to finish but it made me so happy
