The first book I remember reading, I wish I could think of the title! But it was a long book and part of a series. There were talking bats and they were at war with wild cats I think? The premise was this young bat couldn't fly yet, and the elders believed he never would due to a sickness he contracted as a child. The cover page had a bat flying through a darkened forest, and I just remember pouring hours of second-grade math class reading it under my desk.

The first book I remember reading was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and I know that I really loved reading that book during school, that when I came home I told my parents about it.

The first books I ever remember reading were the box car children series. My dad would read them to me every night until I was old enough to read them myself. They were chapter books but did have pictures sometimes throughout.

Reading was a huge part of my childhood. My mom read to us everyday and every night before bed. But my actual first memory I have was when I was like 6 or 7 when she would read the Boxcar children to me or the Babysitter's Club. I am sure if I really thought about it I could think if something else. I am sure if I ask my mom she would remember many more as well.

I don't remember clearly which book was it..but the first book that I found very interesting is The River Between by Ngugi Wa Thiongo.I analyzed the novel and drew a lot of relevant examples in real life situation! Waiyaki is one character that made me go crazy.

I do not know the title of the first book that I read, but like many who have responded the my first book was a Dr. Seuss book. I became so enthralled with the books that I memorized them and I could recite them by heart.

The first book I ever read alone according to my mother was Hop on Pop when I was three. First book I remember reading was Gone with the Wind when I was 5, I had a dictionary with me the entire time to look up words that were to big for me or that I didn't know. I remember I read it because my babysitter was reading it for school and said it was really good.

My first book I remember is "To the Moon and Back" (or something along those lines). It had two rabbits (a mother and child) and my mom and I would read it every night.

The first book I remember reading was I, Coriander. It was a charming tale about a young girl who, after losing her beloved mother, grows and becomes the young woman she was today. I love the enchanting imagery the book masterfully depicts; it's the reason why I fell in love with fairy tales in the first place. I also liked the traditional archetypes the book had; the wicked stepmother, magic, good will triumph over evil. It's the kind of thing I still look for in my adult life.

The first book I actually vividly remember reading was Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus. This ended up being my favorite series as a child. I know I read other books long before Junie B. Jones came into my life, but I don't remember any specific ones.

The first book I remember reading was a Winnie the Pooh book. The theme was based on a birthday party in the hundred acre wood. This is a memorable book for me because I have read it multiple when I was little, in fact I still have it.

Here's a question for thought...What is your first book you remember reading with someone?

The first memory that I have as a little child of someone reading to me was my mother. She read all of The Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder too me. We would read a chapter before bedtime.
