Those are important lessons to learn. I agree that we should love others despite differences. Differences should be celebrated not judged.

I believe it was Donnavila Marie01 that said in another post that this book shows that animals have feelings. I like this is theme because there are some children who have never had a pet and may not understand that animals can feel many of the emotions like us.

The main lesson this book teaches us is that we shouldn't behave like Sheldon, LoL :D
Anyway, jokes aside.
The lesson that this book teaches us is that we should accept people irrespective of our differences and we should learn to embrace change. The changes that occur around us every day, we should accept them.

Very true! Most kids don't automatically pick out the lessons in stories and need some guidance. Although I like to think it soaks in a little bit.

I have to agree with everyone else, not to judge others before getting to know them, be kind to yourself and others, do not bully others, everyone is different and that is okay, in fact that's what makes us special.

Books need lessons, even extremely subtle ones. Books can be entertaining and still leave a message behind.
It's Always Worth the Read.

A lesson learned from the story is that we should always be kind to others because we never know what they could be going through. I've learned that the hard way in life. A single smile or polite conversation with someone can completely change their bleak outlook on life (if even only for as long as it lasts).

I learnt about cooperation and the importance of a peaceful environment. I learnt to leave my comfort zone in search of a better place
