I was relieved there was no romance between Abigail and Haatim. It was already pointed out that there wasn't enough time in the book for a romance to really begin, and this may very well be why I was relieved. I don't mind romance in books as long as it's believable (to me) and doesn't happen too fast.

I am glad this book did not have any romance in it. Romance would have slowed things down and I really liked how fast paced this book was. With all the action already taking place romance would have been an unnecessary addition.

The story would be still good without romance but I don't mind some romantic twists as long as it doesn't feel forced or creepy.

I agree with this. There are some stories that doesn't need romance added on it.

I would prefer that a romance between the two wouldn't appear. A great friendship, yes. I like that. Too many books put the main characters together, it's too much of a cliché.

I like that there isn't a romance in the book. It would be refreshing for a deep friendship and partnership in the future without adding an affair.

I see that there is no tag of romance on Raven's Peak. Maybe in his 2 books? I dunno. But this makes it more intriguing and interesting to read the entire series.

Maybe not a love story, but some connection more than just the basic gratitude should have occurred even slightly in my opinion. Even in their thoughts. I feel I would have enjoyed the book even more.

If I like the characters then yes I love romance between them but if not I prefer it to be non-existent.

To me the book was enjoyable just as it was, and strangely enough I didn't even picture a romance between the two characters. Nor did I miss it...

If there is chemistry among the protagonists, it makes sense to establish a loving relationship between them. Now, putting them together just for the sake of putting them together is unconvincing. In the case of Raven's Peak, they have just met and spent a couple of days together, so it makes sense that their "thing" remains in a simple friendship. I haven't read the sequels, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a future romance...

To be honest, I didn't really think about the fact that there wasn't even a hint of a romance between Abigail and Haatim but now that you mention it, I appreciate that the book didn't go there. If they had hooked up, I feel it would have been solely because it was expected and it's quite fun seeing examples of men and women who are able to remain friends without it having to go further. I kind of hope it's not taken further in the sequels.

I don't really mind if they develop romance on the next book. Though from the first one, I don't think it is needed as the character's role is developing and Haatim is still looking on which path he is going to. He has some confusion with his family that need to be resolve. And as for Abigail, I don't think it will come to her mind as she has lots on her plate to think about.
