Exorcism or possessed do exists. I believed it because I had already seen a person who possessed by spirits.

Really? I'm interesting in hearing more about that personally! What was that like?

Yeah, wow. I don't think I've heard anyone who actually thinks they knew someone who was possessed.

I've heard of those things in the place where I grew up. Luckily, I haven't experienced something like that first hand nor did I witness anything like it in my life. So, I think I believe in it, otherwise I wouldn't feel this lucky that I haven't encountered it.

I had already said that I don't believe in exorcism or possession, but I just remembered that at one point I did. I think I was about ten or eleven years old, I watched The Exorcist, the movie. Boy, did that scare me! I wasn't able to sleep at night for weeks! Holy water was my friend for those weeks! :lol2:

I've seen people who seemed like they were possessed by something as well. Mostly, I've met people who had evil in their souls and needed to be cleansed.

gali wrote:The age-old idea that people can be afflicted by otherworldly spirits is prevalent in nearly all cultures. In fact, it was prevalent in this book as well. Do you believe in demons and evil spirits? That you can actually be possessed by one? Do you believe in exorcism? Do share!
I believe it is possible that possession can occur. There are just too many cases and anecdotal tales of this type of occurrence for it to be completely discounted. Could other explanations exist other than demonic possession? I don't know. Could is be psychosis instead of possession? Could the manifested behaviors be due to ingestion of drugs or toxins like ergot? All of these hypotheses are feasible. However, these conditions would not respond to exorcism. If a person is "possessed" by an entity/spirit/demon and an exorcism is successful does this prove that there was indeed a possession? There are a lot of questions here but few answers. I would have to do much more research to decide either way.

Yes, I do believe in demons. I know there are evil spirits in this world and they are responsible for many "evil" things, including possessing bodies of another human. I have yet to do an extensive research on exorcism but one thing is for sure, I would rather steer clear from this "possession" if I can help it.

You seem very sure of that, which is kind of cool. I'm less sure about it because I think it is fun to read about but it isn't necessarily something I think actually happens.

I have never believed in some being possessed. I'm not really one to believe in the supernatural. I wish I did, I think that life would be all the more mysterious. I do have believe in having an evil spirit. It's not so much the possession idea, but more the soul behind the face. The books that write in this manner bring life to the supernatural and make it seem that much more viable.
It's Always Worth the Read.

So here's a question for you all. This has to do with possession but not necessarily Raven's Peak. Do you believe that Hitler was possessed or just evil?
