Yes, it is very long. I'm getting close to being halfway there. There always seems to be something new that pops up to keep me reading.

Me too, I was on vacation last week and got through a lot of the book. Now I'm back at work and have slowed down; but it is holding my interest, so I'll finish it soon.

This book is right up my alley. I love fantasy, myths, and legends. I also love that the author blended Celtic and Native American mythology--the two predominant cultures in my family.

I'm the same way, in that this is not something I generally look for.

This book is not my typical genre. I spend most of my reading time indulging in romance and erotic fiction. I do enjoy fantasy and the paranormal aspect of this story is something that I enjoy. I wouldn't say it was a stretch for me but normally I would not pick up this type of book unless I was in the mood or turned on the the story or author on a recommendation of a friend. Since having joined this sight I have read two books of the month and am participating in the discussions in order to expand my horizons.

I enjoy this genre, but a lot of times it is not well-done. In this case, Roan seems to be written much better than most books in this category. I have not finished it yet, so these are preliminary thoughts. Looking forward to the ending already!!! Getting to learn more about Conor is delightful so far.

I do enjoy this genre. It can get to feeling repetitive sometimes but then you come across a really good author that brings a new twist to the table.

Exactly!! You just said it better than I could.

This is not my usual genre, but one nice thing about the BOTM or my in-person book club picks is that I can go outside my comfort zone. Sometimes the books turn out to be real gems that I would have never thought about reading otherwise.

This isn't my go to genre. I have read books like this before. I am liking this book.

When I was a little younger this was definitely my type of book. I have always loved fantasy stories, especially those dealing with any type of lore. However, in more recent years, I have read a lot more literary fiction, historical fiction, and non fiction. It was nice to jump back into the fantasy world. I think stopped reading fantasy because I found many of the novels I read where not inventive and repetitive. However, I commend this author on writing a fantasy that is a little different from the norm!

This was really not my kind of book unfortunately.

I feel very similarly! I used to read fantasy all he time when I was in middle school and high school. Now I tend to find myself straying away from the genre unless a book really piques my interest.

It is definitely outside my comfort zone and I had a difficult time reading it.

I do enjoy this genre, although not my go-to genre but I'm glad I give this novel a shot. It's really worth it. I'm totally hooked.
