@Gravy

I'm so sorry. I do try to keep up with comments and such, but the overwhelming popularity of this particular review really caught me off guard. So, if it's not too late I will answer your questions, in reverse order.

I have not seen any info on Book 2, and I have been watching. That being said, all the nagging questions got answered. There are doors left open, but they are to continue Conor's story, not provide more background. Honestly, I don't have a whole lot of respect for cliffhanger endings or nagging questions that the author refuses to answer. In this case, Roan is but an arc in Conor's life. Conor is a teen, and he has many years ahead of him (hopefully) with many stories to be told.

Books are usually a hit or miss. You dont have to force yourself to read something that doesnt keep your attention.

I'm unsure as well. The book got me at the blurb-super interesting. But the young adult label had me worried. I struggle to empathize with young heroes/heroines... I loved the whole series of Twilight, but it was the first time ever. Also, from the comments I understand it's a slow story at times, and I'm not a patient reader. Maybe I'll give few chapeters a go, see how it feels.

I agree, and I have no proble leaving a book at whatever point. LIfe is too short, and there are too many awesome stories to read and enjoy to spend time with one than may be great, just not for you.

Sometimes the author just rambles out, and that's the case in this book. It could have been lot a shorter and would have been much better for it. That being said, it isn't terrible and worth checking out.
