Of course, as it is a memoir, so it vividly incorporates all the happenings of her journey, she went through.ButterscotchCherrie wrote: ↑20 Jan 2019, 03:48 I gather from your review that the author successfully portrayed how her travels put her personal struggles into perspective. It was a wonderful journey, Taylor. Especially, when we see a women going with her family on such a dangerous voyage. Plus, It adds very interesting information about the geography and culture of different places.Taylor Danvers wrote: ↑06 Feb 2019, 21:56 Sea travel usually scares me but reading about a journey from South Africa to the Carribean sounds interesting. “Wars would not be initiated if more of our countrymen travel to foreign lands and stayed awhile,” says Tina Dreffin, generously sharing her thoughts, while embarked on an unforgettable South Pacific expedition with a feeling of pleasure and fear in her heart.
You caught my full attention opening with this quote. I wholeheartedly agree: if we took the time to get to know other cultures, tolerance would be a natural result. I'm interested in the concept of the walkabout: on getting away to gain perspective. It seems like thae authors had to face some tough challenges and I'm glad she shares her experiences with us in such an uplifting tone. I'll definitely add this book to my to-read shelf. Thank you!

I think you live in Australia and know better about the term in Australian context. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful book. Thanks for your feedback!

I love this book so much I feel I connect with the author feelings spiritual. If I had to travel outside my country I expect to heal same as Tina, being somewhere in the world experiencing new things remind you about all the past events that occurred in your life and you compare with nature you observe that's so strange but exciting. I give this book 4 star out of 5 star.
