I Can See Peace by Julie Penshorn is a book that would please children at the age of four to ten years or even adults, who find it difficult to read complex and comprehensive articles. The writing is in the form of a poem that’s properly illustrated in a beautiful artwork and the song lyrics featured in the book sums up the entire equation. In her writing, Julie used simple grammar that’s calm for the reader to grasp the point conveyed and ponder over it. The points are precise, well-organized, and educational.
Peace is a virtue that we all, including children, yearn to find and enjoy it. The author took the initiative to help children, especially, identify the natural creation or features in which they can see peace. Moreover, she gave the answer to the question, “When do you see peace?”
I liked how the artwork tied in perfectly with each line of the poem owing to the fact that they give the reader a deeper impression on the point delivered. The author outlined tools that children could employ to solve matters peacefully, which I found to be the best starter pack for young ones to adopt as they grow to maturity. She also provided practical tips for parents that would guide them to assist their children find or see peace. The discussion questions are of vast help to the reader for the reason that it would help them digest what they’ve learned and reflect on how they can apply the principles drawn from the reading.
Julie Penshorn brought the message home in a clear and simple manner that I didn’t find any room for dislike.
Lessons. Children can find peace in areas that are difficult to discover. “What we see depends on what we look for,” therefore, when we eye for peace, no doubt we will appreciate or find it. Reading can help one see peace for the reason that the message on the pages of the book could speak to their heart and clear disturbing or negative thoughts. Peace can occasionally be interrupted, but that shouldn’t be the cause to give up on finding it. Parents should display a fine example to their children and take the lead in helping them find peace.
The book is professionally edited, I didn’t find any grammatical errors, which is why I rate the book at 4 out of 4 stars. The author did an excellent job on this one.
