Sydney is a 17-year-old girl who dreams of her prince charming, literally. In Sydney's dreams, she sees a young man that she thinks she knows. He takes her around the moon, past Mars and brings her home, then vanishes. What Sydney doesn't realize is that her prince is really a prince, from another world deep within space, but he is there to kill her.

Prince William Derry is a bounty hunter, and his mission is to kill the Star-child before she becomes too powerful. Simple, until William fell in love with Sydney, the Star-child. As Sydney gets under William's skin, will he be able to restore his family's honor by killing her, or will he save her from those that want her dead?

Protostar is a young adult, science fiction novel with some forbidden love thrown in. The forbidden love aspect of the book hooked me the most. I also enjoyed the playful banter between William and his ship's A.I. Throughout the book, William and his A.I. take turns explaining human interactions and rituals to each other. These scenes were some of the funniest in the book. The book was great, so great that I did not find anything to dislike about it. Braxton A. Cosby is an exceptional writer, and I can not wait to read more of his work.

There was only one error in the book, a typo, the word 'her' should have been 'he'. I almost missed this small error as I was so engrossed in the book. This small error proves that the editor knew what they were doing and the error in no way did not take away from the story, or distract me.

Since I was so pleased and captivated by Protostar, I am going to rate Protostar, by Braxton A. Coby 4 out of 4 stars because of the storyline and memorable characters. If I could, I would give this book five stars. The characters William and Sydney will stick with you long after you have finished reading the book.

As for my recommendation, I would recommend this book to any teenager that loves space, and adventure. This book has a Romeo and Juliet quality to it, minus the tragic ending. Forbidden love is the theme of this book and what this book teaches us is that sometimes love is stronger than duty and that young love can conquer anything.

Although this book is in the YA fictional genre, I'd still like to read it because your review has piqued my interest in it. I'm curious as to how William sorts his love & family affair. Thanks for the review.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

Protostar seems to be an exciting read. I can't wait to meet Prince William (honestly, couldn't Cosby think of another name?) and Sydney.

Thanks for the enticing review!

The book has an interesting plot, and it seems like it will contain a lot of twists too. I'm more interested in the romance between Sydney and the prince. Nice review.
