Oblivion Threshold by J.R. Mabry and B.J. West is the first book of The Oblivion Saga series. It is a chilling science fiction that could bring the readers into another world adventure. The book is presented through its imaginative concepts and colorful characterization. It is also riveting and enriched by strong elements of science fiction and dystopian society. The entertainment that this book offer is superb and enjoyable. The organizations of events in the plot are well-structured. Every page from the start until the last page gets more and more exciting to read.

Every person wishes to have a power but what If you have a power that you cannot control. And every step you take with that power will either have positive or negative outcomes that could really affect the entire universe. In this story, Captain Jeff Bowers faced a lot of challenges as he fought the survival of humanity against alien species. After the failed mission with his men, he felt nothing but repugnance for himself and he took all the blame of their deaths. Since then, he only accepts mission without any companions. When he was tasked to spy on the Prox, the treacherous alien species, his ship crashes and he dies. However, he wakes up in his apartment and found himself in the new body with powers. What are these powers that he has? What are the challenges that lie ahead on this new body? Will he be able to save the universe or destroy it?

The authors greatly emphasize the scientific advancement in the story, and they are also focused on the reactions of the readers about an alien invasion. The interaction of aliens with other species and humankind is not only to conquer but for mysterious purposes of their own. They also make sure that this book is not merely a science fiction, but they also touch it with adventure and amusement.

Though it has some explicit sex and a violent scene, the development of the characters along the story is thought-provoking. The change in the characterization of the dynamic characters creates a realistic and detailed overall outcome of the story. The plot twists of events draw the reader into the character’s lives and help the readers to understand the choice that the characters make.

I rated Oblivion Threshold 4 out of 4 stars. This fiction deals with different innovative concepts such as advanced science and technology and extraterrestrial life. I would recommend this book to those who love science fiction and dystopian setting. Science fiction can be exciting and very gripping, but it doesn’t tell us anything about the universe which we live in. - Stephen Hawking
